Traditional movement name, not a medical claim.

Raising and Lowering the Heels

Standing version

Hold a fixed support. Rise onto both forefeet, pause briefly, then lower the heels quietly and with control.

Seated version

Keep the toes on the floor, lift both heels, pause, and lower them slowly. Hands can rest on the thighs.

Helpful cue

Move slowly, keep the joints soft, and let your breathing stay natural.

Do not do this

Do not force the range, lock a joint, move quickly, or hold your breath.

Who should take extra care

Use a fixed support within one arm's reach when standing. Stay seated if balance is uncertain.
